Quantity Ingredient Details
200 gm. urad dal white dal
100 ml. coconut oil or sesame oil
10 gm. onion finely chopped
10 gm. chillies finely chopped
10 gm. ginger finely chopped
5 gm. Sea salt or rock salt


Recipe:

Rinse the urad dal thoroughly. Soak in water for a few hoursnand grind itinto a fine paste. Keep the batter for a few hours. Add finely sliced onion, ginger and green chillies and sea salt to this batter. Make doughnut shaped balls (vadas). Pour the coconut oil into a pan and fry the vadas till they are crispy golden brown. Serve hot with coconut chutney, sambhar or podi.
